SEBOR MARKETING
SECURES CANONBAH BRIDGE WINE AGENCY - By Voon Miaw Ping
KUCHING:
Sebor Marketing and Services Sdn Bhd (SMSSB) has been appointed
the sole agent for the Canobah Bridge Wine (CBW) range in Malaysia,
from where it is hoped the brand will be able to penetrate and
expand its market in Asia.
The Australian-based CBW's vigneron and
principal, Shane McLaughlin said SMSSB was chosen as its agent
here, because of its credibility, calibre and experience in
the industry.
"I'm confident that SMSSB will be able to
promote our wine range both in the local Malaysian market as
well as the Asian market, in the near future. And this partnership
between CBW and SMSSB also marks a significant start to bring
and sell our product in this region," he said.
He was here for a week's visit to formally
launch the sale of CBW's range and promote the products here.
Meanwhile, SMSSB's marketing executive, Jeffry
Ng said that Kuching would be the first city in Malaysia and
Asia to carry this brand name.
He foresees bright prospects for this brand
in the local market and believes that CBW will be able to win
the hearts of many wine lovers here.
"CBW's range is of distinctively fine quality,
although it is still a very new winery (only about seven years).
It will have a very good local market here, and we hope to promote
it in Peninsular Malaysia soon," he said.
SMSSB brings in three of CBW's some seven
varieties, which are the Ram's Leap Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
2000, Ram's Leap Shiraz 2001 and Canobah Bridge Shiraz Grenache
Mourvedre 2000.
"These three varieties are amongst the most
popular. Shiraz Grenache was Six of the Best selected in the
Rhone style."
"Besides, these three varieties are the most
suitable for the Asians palate and go well with Asian food,"
Ng added.
